The 1978 Club is the alumni section of the CUCPSC. It is named after the year of the CUCPSC’s founding and has itself been in existence since 2021. The 1978 aims to bring together those who were part of our shooting community in Cambridge and extend that community beyond the realms of Cambridge and student life.
Benefits:
The 1978 provides access for alumni to the activities and benefits of the CUCPSC, as well as organising its own. These include:
Membership:
To be eligible for membership of the 1978 Club, you must have been a member of the CUCPSC for at least one full academic year, including your final year at the University, or if the full year was not your final year at University, then you must have attended at least ten weekend shoots as members. An equivalent level of commitment to the CUCPSC will also make you eligible.
Anybody who meets the membership criteria and fills out the form below will automatically become a member of the 1978 for life. You will be sent a confirmation email once you have been approved.

For the academic year 2021/2022, to celebrate the inauguration of the 1978, no fee will be charged.
In future years, a small membership fee will be charged to cover the costs of running The 1978. Any member of The 1978 who wishes to enjoy the benefits of the Club will need to activate their membership for that academic year by paying the fee.
Members who wish to attend the occasional event without activating annual membership will be able to do so, but will pay a slightly higher non-member fee for that event.
