Weekly Training
We train at Cambridge Gun Club, near Cottenham. It is a 20-minute drive from Cambridge to CGC. Transport will be arranged by the club, with members alternating between taxis and cars to reduce individual cost. Taxi cost will be split by those in the taxi (around £10 both ways), while cars will charge £2 for fuel. We meet for transport at 9:15am, We are usually back in Cambridge by around 1:30pm.
We typically offer training on Saturdays and Sundays every week during term time and there may be some training during weekdays - this is based on license holder availability. Those who wish to shoot at Varsity/ BUCS tend to go most weeks or at least every other week - although many members only come once or twice a term.
Approximate costs:
A round of 50 clays + transport: ~£38.00
A round of 100 clays + transport: ~£65.00
Socials
The Club is planning to hold some informal pub socials during term time. These are a great way to catch up with friends within the Club, and to meet other members who might train on a different day to you. We are also planning to do paintball this year, allowing us to vent term-based frustrations! During the warmer months we also host BBQs, which are a nice way to chill out after exams.
We will also be heading to Oxford for Varsity this year, which will include a black tie formal event after the shooting. This will cost around £80 inclusive of a sparkling wine reception, wine pairings, and port.
