We hold taster and team trial events during the first few weekends of Michaelmas term, which are a great way to try out our sport in a low pressure environment with other beginners and no expectation of commitment.
Unfortunately, sign-ups for tasters and new members are closed for this year. We've had well over 300+ sign-ups. We re-open taster and membership applications next Michaelmas.

We train at Cambridge Gun Club, near Cottenham. It is a 20-minute drive from Cambridge to CGC. Transport is organised amongst members, with taxis arranged when needed - a flat fee of £8 is charged regardless of whether you are in a taxi or another member's car. We meet for transport at 9:30am, We are usually back in Cambridge by around 1:30pm.
We typically offer training on Saturdays and Sundays every week during term time; there is no expectation to attend both days, nor every weekend - many of our members only shoot for fun so may only attend once a term, others that are committed to Varsity training tend to go most weeks or at least every other week.
Approximate costs:
A round of 50 clays + transport: ~£33.00
A round of 100 clays + transport: ~£58.00
The Club holds regular informal socials at The Maypole most weeks during term time. These are a great way to catch up with friends within the Club, and to meet other members who might train on a different day to you. During the warmer months we also host BBQs and picnic events as well, which are a nice way to chill out after exams.
We host regular black die dinners to celebrate its members' achievements for the term. These usually occur towards the end of term and cost around £80 inclusive of a sparkling wine reception, wine pairings, and port.
We also get invited to a whole load of other fun balls and events - check out our term card for more details!
